Honda Active Participant in Forwarding Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology

June 19th, 2013 by

We’re well aware of Honda’s progressive nature, so it comes at really no surprise that the Japanese automaker is at the forefront of the hydrogen fuel cell technology agenda.

First, we’d like to mention that there was a recent discovery at Duke University where researchers have found a way to produce fuel-grade hydrogen without yielding carbon monoxide levels to nearly zero. This is just one of many examples that prove that eco-friendly efforts have skyrocketed in the nation (and across the globe), and Honda’s part plays a solid role.

Let’s cut to the chase. Honda’s demonstrated commitment to green efforts such as hydrogen fuel cell technology is embodied in the Honda FCX Clarity. When Honda released it for sale in 2008, the company actually made U.S. history; it was the first automaker to lease a hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric car to citizens of the United States.

Unfortunately, here in Woodside, NY we don’t have this option available just yet, but if  you’re ever out in Southern California, you may have the opportunity to get your hands on one. Fast-fill stations are available in this area, which is why it’s sales are stationed on the Southwest coast.

Furthermore, Honda’s engaged in the H2USA committee, a group where automakers, researchers and other experts discuss hydrogen fuel cell efforts on an expert level. The committee was formed by the Department of Energy.

So you see, when it comes to taking our Earth back from years of polluted abuse, you can count on Honda to make strong, intelligent decisions to carry us in to a cleaner future. If the FCX Clarity seems out of reach, you can still make a difference with our other eco-friendly options like the Honda Fit EV or the Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid. We’d be happy to help in any way we can.
