Honda Raises the Bar with Sensational June Sales
Honda never ceases to impress us here at Paragon Honda, and the recent release the June sales report indicates that consumers are just as awed by our favorite Japanese automaker’s new Honda models.
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. reported that last month resultd in 136,915 units sold, which is an increase of 9.7 percent compared to last June. When we get down to the division, Honda posted 123,150 sales units, earning a 12.5 percent increase over last year. The Acura division also pulled its weight with a 10.4 increase of 13,765 units.
If we could categorize what buyers wanted, we’d say it was the month of the light pickup. The Honda Odyssey was a hit, well, 14,000 hits if we’re talking sales. That’s a 26 percent increase over June 2012. The Pilot did well for itself also. In fact, last month was its best June it’s had since 2005 with 12,085 units sold and a 21.3 increase from June 2012. Another in the category was the CR-V which sold 26,572 units with a 41.1 percent increase compared to last June.
Others, such as the Accord and Civic did their parts with 20.4 percent and 8.1 percent increases, respectively.
“These solid results further showcase Honda’s pure, market-driven momentum achieved by customers choosing Honda vehicles one at a time than relying on fleet sales to drive volume,” explains John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at America Honda.1
