Pulling back the curtain on the 2015 Honda Fit
A couple months ago, we had some bittersweet news to share with you folks here at Paragon Honda. The sweet side of things was that the Honda Fit Hybrid was named the Car of the Year in Japan. The bitter part was that this award-winning hatchback has yet to come Stateside.
We know, we know; good things come to those who wait. And now that we’ve caught a glimpse of the 2015 Honda Fit that was recently unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, the wait just got a whole lot easier.
For those who missed it, the 2015 Fit will come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (complete with direct injection and i-VTEC valve timing) – a powertrain that will reportedly make it more fuel-efficient than ever while delivering up to 130 horsepower and 114 lb.-ft. of torque. The brass at Honda also predicts it will earn top safety ratings from both the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Needless to say, we’ve got a lot to look forward to.
“The Honda Fit is a small car with big aspirations,” says John Mendel, executive vice president of Automobile Sales for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Faster, more ful-efficient and more fun, it’s a subcompact with larger-than-life capabilities. It’s simply the best Fit to date and, we believe, a new benchmark in the small-car category.”1
