Sales News: Honda Tops One Million Hybrid Units Sold Worldwide

October 31st, 2012 by

When you stop by Paragon Honda in Woodside, NY, you will find our lot full of new Honda and used cars built to satisfy the wants and needs of almost any driver. And while our Woodside, NY inventory does include tough, utilitarian models such as the 2013 Honda Ridgeline and 2013 Honda Pilot, Honda’s raison d’être has always been to offer drivers the most reliable, stylish, and, more importantly, fuel efficient vehicles possible.

The Japanese automaker presently offers four hybrid vehicles in the U.S., contributing to a total of eight models around the globe. Impressive, yes? But the Big H recently reached a big milestone in terms of hybrid sales when it sold its millionth hybrid vehicle.

This is an amazing achievement, especially considering that Honda only started selling hybrids in 1999 when it introduced the Honda Insight in Japan. With a fuel efficiency rating of over 82 miles per gallon (in Japan), the Insight was an overnight success. Bolstered by the car’s popularity overseas, the Honda Insight made its way to the United States for the 2000 model year.

Honda history is neat of course, but Paragon Honda in Woodside, NY is guessing our customers are more interested in what Honda has in store. Well, the Big H is committed to taking its green offerings even further with forthcoming models like the 2013 Honda Fit EV and 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid.

Honda’s future is bright. To stay informed of what the Big H is up to, please subscribe to the Paragon Honda blog.
